Bead Stringing
Students will make necklace, bracelet and matching earrings. They will learn to properly bead and close beaded necklace by use of crimp beads, crimp bead pliers and crimp bead covers. They will learn to use beading board for design and measurement purposes. They will learn the proper techniques of bending, and curling wire for earrings by use of needle nose pliers and round nose pliers. A choice of base metal or sterling findings will be available.

Wire Wrapping
Students will learn to make 2 beautiful pendants by learning the basic techniques of wire wrapping. They will get their choice of 2 tumbled stones to wrap. They will be taught two different ways to wrap the stones in a means that will secure them firmly for wear. They will assemble a metal chain to wear with the pendants. They will learn to use side cutters, round nose pliers, needle nose pliers, flat nose pliers, and a small jeweler’s file.

Students will make and take home 2 wire wrapped pendants and assemble a matching chain for pendants

Stamping
Students will learn to create their own stamped pendant using a name, quote, special date etc. The stamping will be done on base metal. A base metal chain will be made to wear with it. They will learn to measure with proper measuring instruments, find the center of the metal piece and align where words are to be stamped. They will learn to use a scribe, flex shaft or drill press for drilling holes. They will also learn to work harden metal for proper jump ring usage.
All supplies are included in the price.

Student will make and take home one hand stamped pendant, assemble a chain for the pendant.
2 Hours

Stamping and Cold Connections
Student will learn to create their own stamped and riveted leather, copper or brass bracelet. They will choose from a decorative base metal piece to stamp a name, quote, special date, etc. They will learn to use the drill press or flex shaft to drill holes in the metal. They will learn to use the scribe, dividers and the proper measuring tools. They will also learn to rivet the metal piece onto another piece of metal or a piece of leather to make a bracelet. If metal is used, the students will learn to use a bracelet mandrel or bracelet bending pliers.

Students will make and take home one leather, brass or copper bracelet with a decorative stamped metal piece attached.

Sweet Pea Pendant
Student will make a precious keepsake pendant with ‘green peas” in a metal pod.
They will learn to stamp on base metal charms for decorative purposes to add to the necklace. They will learn to assemble a chain to match pendant. Student will learn to measure with proper measurement tools, find the center of the metal and mark measured amounts of metal. They will learn to use a jeweler’s saw and drill with a flex shaft or a drill press. They will learn to file and fold metal plus work metal wire.

Students will make and take home one Peas in the Pod pendant with initial charms, and assemble a matching chain.

Metalsmithing 1/Texturing

Students learn to create their own jewelry designs from an assortment of mixed metals. They will get an introduction to basic metalsmithing tools and techniques. They will learn to cut, file, texture, drill, and connect metal pieces to form a beautiful pendant or pair of earrings. They will learn to work harden metal, use proper measuring tools, us a scribe for drawing or marking metal. They will learn to marry the assorted metals in an eye appealing manner. They will learn three different ways to texture metal.

Student will make and take home a decorative multi-layer pendant or earrings in this class.

Metalsmithing 2/ Patina
*Prerequisite “Stamping and Cold Connections”
(1 Day 4 hours)
Students will learn to make a beautiful handcrafted necklace and earrings from premade metal rings. They will learn to make patterns on rings by use of a rolling mill, stamping, or hammering. They will learn to drill holes to use in connections with jump rings. They will learn to patina the raw metal with color patina of their choice. To do that, they will learn to use the torch for heating the metal. They will learn to wax polish patina so that it will not come off of metal. Student will learn to the proper way to use earring findings. They will use a jeweler’s saw, drill press or flex shaft, proper measuring tools, propane torch, cross lock tweezers, soldering pad, and jeweler’s pliers.
Students will make and take home a beautiful handcrafted and colored linked necklace and a pair of earrings.

Metalsmithing 3/ Piercing and Doming
*Prerequisite “Stamping and Cold Connections”
Students will reinforce previously learned tasks of cutting, drilling, filing, measuring, using the scribe. This class is not for the faint of heart. Come in prepared to not rush through this class. Piercing is tedious but oh so satisfying when completed. Students will make a beautiful pierced and domed pendant. They will learn to transfer patterns onto metal for piercing purposes. They will use the jeweler’s saw, flex shaft or drill press, files, emery sticks, scribe, measuring tools, they will learn to polish the small crevices of the pierced areas. They will attach a baille with a jump ring for hanging purposes.
Students will make one pierced and domed pendant with baille attached to it.

Soldering Basics
*Prerequisite “Stamping and Cold Connections” and at least one of the “Metalsmithing” classes
Student will learn the basics of soldering. They will learn the steps to match metal for soldering purposes, They will learn to make and solder jump rings and a finger ring. The finger ring will be made out of sterling silver and will be a spinner ring. Student will use the jeweler’s saw, files, ring mandrel, proper measuring tools, jump ring mandrel, propane torch, flux, pickle, texturing techniques, and doming block. They will learn proper polishing techniques.
All supplies are included in the price.
Tools will be provided
Student must wear cotton base clothing and leather top shoes. No hairspray or flammable hair solutions should be worn.
Student will make and take home soldered jump rings also a sterling silver spinner ring.
